Three people detained in Brussels on suspicion of preparing terror attacks during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays have been released by the Belgian investigation office, the Federal Prosecutor's Office reported, according to Reuters. Belgian police took six people in for questioning, but the first three were released on Thursday. Two other suspects detained earlier this week are to stay in custody for a month, in accordance with a judge’s ruling. The suspected attack is thought to have targeted police, military personnel and civilians. Due to the threat of terror attacks, authorities canceled Brussels’ annual New Year’s Eve firework display.
