HDFC BANK & MASTERCARD WILL SUPPORT TRADERS E COMMERCE PORTAL E-LALA
E-LALA WILL ENCOURAGE USE OF PLASTIC MONEY
With having e retail boom among the consumers and to protect offline market from onslaughts and sinister designs of e commerce portals, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) is entering into e commerce field when pilot of its e commerce portal e-lala will be launched at Nagpur on forthcoming 5th November with big fanfare. Two major institutions lead bank HDFC Bank & global major in digital payments MasterCard have join hands with CAIT to support e-lala by providing seamless online & offline payment solutions for shoppers at e-lala.
CAIT National President Mr. B.C.Bhartia informed that full fledged launch of e-lala will be held in third week of November at New Delhi followed by subsequent launch in 50 cities across the Country. " We have made target of on boarding 50 thousands sellers on e-lala by end of March,2016. It is for the first time that trade associations all over the Country will be playing a key role in taking the portal down the line in urban and rural areas"-said Mr. Bhartia. More than 40 thousand Trade Associations of different states are associated with CAIT which in turn having about 6 crore small businesses in their fold.
Mr. Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary General of CAIT said that e-lala will be distinctive and different from other portals.Business entities already having a physical store will only be enrolled as seller and no proxy seller will be allowed to board e-lala. The portal will encourage usage of plastic money & internet banking while making payments for the purchases made. Even delivery men shall also be carrying card payment machine, Mobile applications, tablets & other gadgets facilitating digital payments to consumers. Initially, cash on delivery will also be taken as a last resort of payment.
Both Mr. Bhartia & Mr. Khandelwal informed that e-lala will be purely a marketplace and will provide only technology platform for online shopping. Consumers will purchase merchandise directly from seller and will make payments also directly. So also the seller will handle all logistics and delivery mechanism. There will not be any interference of the portal in transactions, first time ever in India.
