 High scoring second day at the inaugural Cairn Juniors Hockey Cup 2015

New Delhi, January 16, 2015: The second day of the inaugural Cairn Juniors Hockey Cup 2015 turned out to be a very high scoring day. The first game of the day was played between Modern School, Barakhamba Road and GCSBV, Shapurjat in the junior (under 17) category. The boys from Modern school came out with a dominating performance to win 5-0. Rahul Gharai scored three goals and Rohit Gharai found the back of the net twice for the winning team.
The other four games of the day were played in the sub junior (under 14) category. Anglo-Arabic SSS, Ajmeri Gate displayed a clinical performance to beat Manavasthali, Manasarovar Garden 3-0. Captain M. Ghufran, Abdul Kadir and M Salman scored a goal apiece for the winning team.
VCS Agriculture, Khera Kheri thumped GBSS School, Saket G Block 11-0. The VCS boys were on a roll from the word go and played as brilliantly as the score line suggests.
In another game GBSSS, Khanpur defeated GBSSS, Ghittorni 2-1. The Khanpur boys got off to a great start as they raced to a 2-0 lead in the early minutes of the game with goals from Amit and Kalvinder. They managed to maintain the lead from there on only to concede a goal in the dying minutes of the game. Ravinder scored the consolation goal for Ghittorni.
The last game of the day was played between GBSSS, Begumpur and GBSSS Pushp Vihar in which the boys from Begumpur produced a dominating performance to win 5-0. Kishan Kashyap scored a hattrick whereas Moham scored a brace for the winning team.
