Obama pays tribute to JFK
US President Barack Obama has paid tribute to the late president John F. Kennedy on the 50th anniversary of his assassination.
In an interview with ABC News on Friday, Obama said he thinks JFK captured the idealism, the ability to imagine and remake America to meet its ideals in a way Americans have not seen before or since.
He said he does not know of anyone who has had that same impact on a generation and inspired so many people as JFK has.
Obama said he thinks partly because of his youth, courage, and eloquence, Kennedy moved people in a way that still resonates with Americans today.
He said he does not spend time worrying about his personal safety because the Secret Service does an outstanding job every day.
