NORWAY’S PRIME MINISTER SECRETLY DRIVES TAXI TO KNOW PULSE
Norway’s prime minister has taken part in an unusual election campaign stunt to gauge the mood of the people.
Video footage released on Sunday shows Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg working as an undercover taxi driver.
He is seen wearing sunglasses and a taxi driver’s uniform as he drives people, young and old, around Oslo.
Stoltenberg did not identify himself to the passengers. But they burst out laughing when they finally realized that he was, in fact, the prime minister. One jokingly asked him if he had begun working as a part-time cab driver.
Another made fun of his driving skills after Stoltenberg jolted the car abruptly. The prime minister said he had not driven for eight years.
In most cases, the conversation turned to education and economic policies.
Stoltenberg did not charge any of the passengers.
He says the stunt was aimed at finding out what people really thought.
