Supreme Court on Tuesday said that the CBI probe report prima facie suggests irregularities in coal block allocation.
The court has directed CBI not to share its report with government and give it in writing to the court.
This comes four days after the probe agency submitted its latest probe status report to the top court in a selaed envelop.
The court also asked Centre to file additional affidavit to clarify policy criterion for selecting and dropping companies.
The news agency reports that CBI informed SC in its report that No verification of credentials of companies was done for coal block allocation during 2006-09.
CBI has registered a fresh case in the coal scam against a Jharkhand based company Jharkhand Ispat Private Limited.
The company is part of the RC Rungta Group.
It was allotted North Dhadu coal block on January 13, 2006 for its sponge iron plant.
CBI sources said they had detected several irregularities in the allotment after which a case was filed against it and unknown public officials.
Searches were being conducted at Varanasi, Hazaribagh, Kolkata, Ranchi and Delhi.
Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal told Rajya Sabha during question hour that the matter is under investigation and all details will be revealed soon.
