"I had complete faith in the judiciary and it has delivered justice today. I thank all those who stood by me..." - Naveen Soorinje, after his release
Dear Naresh,
Last week, Change.org user, Sudipto Mondal, achieved a big milestone on his campaign. Sudipto had started a petition to get the Karnataka government to drop charges against journalist, Naveen Soorinje, who was allegedly wrongly arrested.
Soorinje was the reporter who exposed an attack on youngsters by a fundamentalist group in Mangalore. But, he was arrested under the same charges as the attackers.
On Saturday, Soorinje was released on bail after a victim confessed how Naveen was not involved in the attack and had tried to help the victims. Sudipto feels that Soorinje’s release is a first step to get Naveen acquitted of the allegedly false charges.
Naveen’s arrest had created an outrage - over 5000 signed Sudipto’s petition and hundreds protested on the streets. Public pressure forced the cabinet to drop all charges against Soorinje. However, the decision still awaits the CM’s approval. Share Sudipto’s petition to help him gather more support.
Naresh, you too can make a difference like Sudipto. Start a petition, share it with your friends, mobilise public support and get decision-makers to bring about positive change.

Thank you for taking action,
Tamseel and the Change.org team
