Revised Lokpal Bill to be introduced in Lok Sabha today

Government will introduce the revised draft of Lokpal in Lok Sabha today. Other key anti-corruption legislations including Whistle Blowers' Protection Bill and Judicial Accountability Bill will also be tabled.
This was stated by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal while talking to reporters outside Parliament.
Government has already introduced Citizen's Grievances Redressal Bill in the Lok Sabha. Mr. Bansal said that the current session of Parliament will be extended by three days for a thorough discussion on these key legislations with Business Advisory Committee deciding that the two Houses will sit from 27th December to 29th December. Parliament will be on holiday from 23rd to 26th of this month to celebrate Christmas.
Earlier, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee held a meeting with the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, her counterpart in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley and senior BJP leader L K Advani to discuss the issue.
Union Cabinet had approved the revised draft of Lokpal in its last meeting in the National Capital. The cabinet has incorporated the suggestions of the standing committee which discussed the bill for over two months in the revised draft.
Reports say, Government is keen to ensure the passage of all these crucial anti corruption legislations in this session.
