Doing Business – India Slipped 1-6 Ranks, No IPR Protection

September21, 2015 (C) Ravinder Singh progressindia008@yahoo.com
Responding to big advertisements – Punjab ranked No.1 in starting a business and in this Gujarat is ranked 12, Gujarat claiming top rank on many counts, at World Banks’ own website India Rank 158 has slipped 1-6 Ranks in just 12 months.
Department Of Industrial Policy & Promotion [DIPP] has ALWAYS BUNGLED UP– DIPP believes Industrial Promotion is ‘RUNNING A SHOP & DUKANDARI’
DIPPs Criteria of Ranking of States were ‘1. Setting up a business, 2. Allotment of land and obtaining construction permit, 3. Complying with environment procedures, 4. Complying with labour regulations, 5. Obtaining infrastructure related utilities, 6. Registering and complying with tax procedures, 7. Carrying out inspections, 8. Enforcing contracts.’
ESSENTIAL CRITERIAS OF ‘INDUSTRIAL PROMOTION’ MISSING ARE: –

1.    Value Added By Industry,
2.    Manufacture of Advance Technology Products, and Exports,
3.    Intellectual Property, Years to Get A Patent [Patents Filed in Foreign Countries]
4.    Ease of Takeover Of Companies, Running & Sick,
5.    Percent of Engineers & R&D Person Employed Per Capita,
6.    Average Wages Paid to Skilled Workers & Managers,
7.    Rate of DIVIDEND Paid as Percent of Capital Investment & Turnover.
8.    Tax Concessions and Incentives Secured By State Industry.
9.    Plant & Machinery Cost as Percent of Total Project Cost,
10.  Number of Subsidiaries Run By State Industries.
Core Idea Missing ‘Industries Are Funded By Indian Money, MUST BE OWNED & MANAGED BY BEST QUALIFIED’ – UNDER PERFORMING INDUSTRIES ON TEN COUNTS ARE UNACCEPTABLE & BE SUBJECTED TO QUICK TAKEOVERS.
‘Globally, India stands at 158 in the ranking of 189 economies on the ease of starting a business (figure 2.2).’

Eight killed, dozens injured series of blasts rock north-eastern Nigerian city

At least eight people have been killed and dozens injured by triple explosions which struck the city of Maiduguri in the north-east of Nigeria, according to a hospital source, who added that many more people are feared dead. A military spokesman confirmed that the three blasts targeted a mosque and areas near the building on the edge of the city center, Reuters reported. Nobody has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. However, it comes a day after Boko Haram accused the government of lying about army successes against the Islamist militant group.Media agencies
