Hurricane Ophelia cyclone now Category 2

Hurricane Ophelia cyclone, could bring damage to Ireland and U.K.
Ophelia now a Category 2 hurricane, then Category 1 and eventually downgraded even more Sunday as it moved north-northeast across the Atlantic.
The NHC says the storm packs maximum sustained winds of 85 mph and its post-tropical cyclone is expected to dissipate near western Norway by Tuesday night.
Ireland’s Met Eireann weather service said the country’s southern and western counties could get gusts of up to 80 mph along with heavy rain and storm surges.
NHC said Hurricane Ophelia could bring 2 to 3 inches of rain in western Ireland and Scotland, with coastal flooding and “large and destructive waves” where it makes landfall.
Hurricane-force winds could reach the southern portions of Ireland by Monday afternoon, NHC said. It warned that “preparations to protect lives and property should be rushed to completion” by Sunday afternoon.

Typhoon Khanun on Monday

Typhoon Khanun landed in Xuwen county, South China’s Guangdong province, at around 3:25 am on Monday (19:25 GMT on Sunday), bringing gales of 28 meters per second at its eye, according to local meteorological authorities.
It is the 20th typhoon to hit China this year.
Cities in Guangdong and neiboring areas will suffer heavy rain in the next 24 hours.
From Sunday to Monday morning, the typhoon will bring strong winds and torrential rains to southern and southeastern coastal regions, including parts of Shanghai and the provinces of Zhejiang, Guangdong and Hainan, Zhang said.
These regions have already seen more rain since the beginning of October, especially in the eastern parts of Hainan, where Sanya is situated. Precipitation is double what was recorded during the same period last year, she said.
The center continued with an orange alert-the second highest level in the four-color tiered system for severe weather-for Typhoon Khanun on Sunday morning. It warned the affected governments to take precautions to minimize casualties and economic losses from rain-triggered floods, mudslides or other disasters.
After making landfall on Monday morning, the typhoon is expected to weaken and turn southwest toward central Vietnam, Zhang said.
Confronted with the approaching typhoon and possible disasters, the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters activated a Level 2 emergency response on Sunday, urging local authorities to make thorough preparations.
In Guangdong, Hainan and Zhejiang, the major regions affected by the typhoon, around 60,000 fishing boats returned and over 150,000 residents relocated, according to the bureau.
China has seen fewer typhoons this fall than in the past. Only four formed from Sept 1 to Oct 14, which is three fewer than the 30-year average. But Typhoon Khanun may be the leading storm in a new active period, and one or two typhoons could form and affect China in the next two weeks, the center said.

Vietnam braced for typhoon Khanun on Monday after destructive floods battered the country’s north and center last week, killing 72 people, the disaster prevention agency said.
Last week’s floods were the worst in years, the government and state-run Vietnam Television said, with thousands of homes submerged. Another 200 houses collapsed and several towns remain cut off by the floodwater.
The floods also damaged more than 22,000 hectares (54,300 acres) of rice.
Vietnam is the world’s third-largest exporter of rice and the second-biggest producer of coffee, although the floods have not affected the Southeast Asian nation’s coffee belt.
Eighteen people from the hardest-hit province of Hoa Binh in the north were buried by a landslide, but only thirteen bodies have been found, Vietnam’s disaster agency said.
The government has said it is fixing dykes, dams and roads damaged by last week’s flood and is preparing for typhoon Khanun, which is expected to cause heavy rain in northern and central Vietnam from Monday.
It has also warned ships and boats to avoid the approaching typhoon.
Vietnam is prone to destructive storms and flooding due to its long coastline. A typhoon wreaked havoc across central provinces last month.
Floods have also affected nine out of 77 provinces in Thailand, Vietnam’s neighbor to the west. Three people had been killed in flooding since last Tuesday, Thailand’s disaster agency said on Monday.
The Thai capital, Bangkok, was hit by heavy rain at the weekend, with gridlocked traffic bringing parts of the city to a standstill. Bangkok has often been described as the “Venice of the East” because of its many waterways.
However, the floods prompted criticism of Bangkok’s city government, with some social media users accusing authorities of not managing water levels in canals properly.
The city government defended itself, saying it was working closely with the irrigation department. Thailand suffered its worst flood in five decades in 2011, with hundreds of people killed, industrial estates engulfed and key industries crippled.

Tillerson plays safe

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is under attack from the lobby of white house to Washington elite for leveling charges that he has said unwanted word for the US President, but the Secretary of state making no comments still pursue the diction  for the President of US, his policies and his ideas of My America First.
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Sunday minimized tensions with his boss, President Donald Trump, and brushed aside comments from an influential lawmaker, who compared Trump’s undermining of his top diplomat to a public castration.
“I am fully committed to his objectives. I agree with his objectives. I agree with what he is trying to do,” Tillerson said of Trump on CNN’s State of the Union program.
Tillerson’s tenure as secretary of state has been dogged by rumours about rifts with Trump over policy.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Sunday that President Donald Trump had instructed him to continue diplomatic efforts to calm rising tensions with North Korea, saying “those diplomatic efforts will continue until the first bomb drops.”
Speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Tillerson downplayed messages that President Trump had previously posted on Twitter suggesting Tillerson was wasting his time trying to negotiate with “Little Rocket Man,” a derogatory nickname Trump has coined for North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un.
Trump “has made it clear to me to continue my diplomatic efforts,” Tillerson said.

May travel to Brussels

British Prime Minister Theresa May  travel to Brussels on Monday to meet with the European Union’s chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier and head of the EU Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, May’s office said on Sunday.
May will travel with Brexit minister David Davis for the meetings, which, her office said, were a long-planned part of the prime minister’s build-up to a European Council summit on Thursday.
The summit is seen as a critical point in Britain’s stalling efforts to negotiate an exit deal with the EU after Brussels said last week the latest round of negotiations had ended in deadlock over money.
EU leaders could hand May an olive branch at the summit by launching their own internal preparations for a transition to a new relationship with Britain.
May spoke to German Chancellor Angela Merkel earlier on Sunday and the two agreed on the need for continued constructive progress in the exit talks, an earlier statement from May’s office said.

Nicolas Maduro’s back in regional vote in Venezuela

Venezuela government retains power even after protest by opposition after its oil economy nosedive and food and medicine price skyrocketed.
Nicolas Maduro’s government has won a majority of governorship in Venezuela’s regional election on Sunday. Electoral board president Tibisay Lucena said the ruling Socialist Party took 17 governorship, versus five for the opposition Democratic Unity coalition, media  reported.
The ruling Socialist Party previously controlled 20 of the 23 state governorships. “‘Chavismo’ is alive, in the street, and triumphant,” Maduro said in a speech to the nation, referring to the ruling movement’s name for former president Hugo Chavez.
The opposition coalition has refused to recognize the results of gubernatorial elections. “We have serious suspicions and doubts,” election campaign chief Gerardo Blyde told reporters, without presenting any evidence of fraud.

Election in Austria,Sebastian Kurz leads

DMMlnUyW0AA6jTX
Austrian conservative set to become the youngest leaders of Europe with counting on out going Foreign Minister, Sabstain kurz narrowly ahead in position to form coalition government. The election are mainly on plank of immigration plagued Europe 2015-16.
Two anti-migrant parties are leading in the Austrian parliamentary election, with the conservative People’s Party (OVP), headed by Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz, in first place, according to preliminary official results. The right-wing Freedom Party (FPO) is second.
Kurz announced his party’s victory soon after the release of the exit poll results. A “great responsibility has been placed” on the OVP, he tweeted, adding that his party accepts it “with great humility.”
He also said that his party’s victory is “not a triumph over others but a chance for a change.”
At just 31 years old, Kurz is set to be become the world’s youngest national leader.
According to the preliminary results published by the Austrian Interior Ministry, Kurz’s OVP has taken a clear lead in the election with 31.4 percent of the vote. The right-wing anti-immigrant FPO came in ahead of the Social Democrats in a very close race for second place.
FPO secured 27.4 percent backing, the Social Democrats received 26.7 percent. Both parties repeatedly swapped places as the votes were being counted.
DMM9TwTW4AAVL_H
The results are regarded as a success for the right-wing populists, as they received seven percent more of the vote than in the previous election, in which the FPO received 20.5 percent.
The results for the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPO), which won the previous election and was the senior member of the ruling coalition before the snap election, is already being called by some analysts the worst in the party’s history, as previously it always came in either first or second.
In the view of the election results for the Social Democrats, SPO head and former Chancellor Christian Kern said that he will still hold the post of party chief. “We have a responsibility to our voters,” he told Austrian ORF broadcaster.
The right-wing populist party now has a good chance to enter a coalition government.
With 31 percent of the vote, the OVP is now expected to become the strongest force in the Austrian National Council, which has 183 seats. It still, however, lacks a majority in the legislature and could seek a coalition with the right-wing populists, as a revival of the OVP-SPO coalition seems unlikely.
Austria Election today set the Europe the continent right wing  thinking another unique opportunity to its union to gather together on broader points but to focus on it’s intrinsic strength. Immigration dominated the election.
Kurz, nicknamed “wunderwuzzi”, is expected to form a coalition with the anti-immigration FPOe of Heinz-Christian Strache, 48. It would be the first time it has entered government since 2000 under Joerg Haider.
Another option for Kurz would be another “grand coalition” with the SPOe, but after 10 acrimonious years governing together — ended early by Kurz in May — this is seen as less likely.
The FPOe”s return to power in the wealthy EU member would be a fresh headache for Brussels as it struggles with Brexit and the rise of nationalists in Germany, Hungary, Poland and elsewhere.
Like the Alternative for Germany, which last month became the third-largest party in the Bundestag, and France”s National Front, the FPOe has stoked concerns about a record influx of migrants into Europe.
The party was founded by ex-Nazis in the 1950s — Strache flirted with neo-Nazism in his youth — and is highly critical of the European Union.
It wants EU sanctions on Russia lifted.Media agencies
